Born from one woman's love for animals, PKP Gaushala has grown into Udaipur's most trusted sanctuary for abandoned and injured cows.
The woman behind 27 years of selfless service to animals.
In 1997, Mrs. Suman Bose registered Pashupati Kalyan Parishad as a society — driven by her lifelong compassion for animals. PKP began with voluntary service at the Udaipur Government Veterinary Hospital, and in 2003 established its permanent shelter in Balicha village, near NH-8.
"Every animal that enters our shelter has a name, a history, and a right to live with dignity. We are simply here to honour that right."
With no institutional backing and no guarantee of funding, she built PKP from the ground up — one rescued animal at a time. Over the decades, her shelter grew from a handful of cows to a recognised sanctuary for 250+ animals, earning certification from the Animal Welfare Board of India and the Government of India's 80G tax-exemption status.
Her vision has always been simple: no animal in need should be turned away. That promise holds true to this day.
Four pillars that guide everything we do at PKP Gaushala.
From one rescued cow to Udaipur's most trusted Gaushala.
Trusted, verified, and accountable — every rupee is accounted for.
